Creating an Automated Report

If there is a specific report you want to run automatically on a set day of the week or month, you can create an automated report so you can set it and forget it. The report will be automatically sent out without you having to remember to do so.

Create a new automated report

First, go to the reports tab, and click Automated Reports… on the top left.

Next, click New Report to create a new automated report.

You will now see the screen where you create a new report. Depending on the report you choose, you will set up your automated report like on of the following.

Saving a built in automated report with report options

First, select the report you want to run (1). Then give the automated report a description (2). If the report requires advanced options, the ‘Set Reports Options’ button will be enable you will will need to set these options (3). Enter the email address the report should be emailed to (4). Specify the day of week or month as well as the time the reports should be sent (5). And last, if desired, you can enter a CC email. (6). This is useful if you want to also receive the email just for the peace of mind know it was sent out. Click Save to save the report.

Some reports do not have advanced options. This is how you would create an automated report for those reports:

Select the report (1). Give it a description (2). Enter the From and To date if required by the selected report (3). Use the available date placeholders guide on the right to help you create the from and to date template. In the above example, when this reports runs, the From date will be today – 7 days, and the to date will be Todays date. Next, enter the email address the report will be sent to (4). Select the day the report should send on (5). And last, if desired, enter a email address the reports should be CC’d to.

Custom Reports

You can also automate a custom report. If you want to automate a custom report, you will first need to save the custom report. Once you have saved the report, you can set up the automated report:

Select Custom Report from the dropdown (1). Enter a description for the automated report (2). Select the saved custom report from the dropdown (3). Enter the email address the automated report should be sent to (4). Select the day the report will be sent on (5). Last, enter an email address the automated report should be CC’d to, if desired.

That’s it! Once you have saved the automated report, it will automatically be sent out, no more work required on your part.
